Formal Portraits of the Payson High Marching Band

by dav.d

Here are the formal portrait photographs for the Payson High School marching band. We were planning on shooting the group outside on the football field. We picked one of the indoor gyms where we could use the bleachers for the whole group. You have this many people you need bleachers or steps for this to work. I brought enough lights to light the group but I could have used a few more.

And since it is high school, we had to have a “fun” one.

We did an alternate group photograph of the marching band. This has the flags extended.

We then photographed each group or section. Saxophones, clarinets, flutes, drums, and more. We did a serious photograph and then we did a fun photo.

We then photographed each person individually. In some cases a friend would join in as well.

And I made money from parents ordering prints and digital copies on my SmugMug page. Yay!
